DIRECT FIRE WEAPONS
Direct
fire weapons includes machineguns, cannons, short range missiles, rail
guns, lasers, etc. Direct fire weapons cannot fire over base
structures and walls unless mounted on towers.
SENSORS
The key
to warzone2100. Sensors not only keep the area under surveillance but
also act as the eye of indirect fire weapons. CB-Sensors can detect
incoming artillery fire.
AA WEAPONS
In
online play, many gamers forbidden the use of VTOLs. When playing 'no
VTOLs' games, do not try to be funny by building AA defense as they
are totally useless. Despite their good Rate of Fire and Damage, they
cannot target ground units.
MORTAR
Mortar
weapons is the artillery for T1 and early T2 stages. Mortars are
effective against many light vehicles (especially wheels). Cyborgs are
also weak against mortar shells. However, mortars have relatively
short range and are almost useless against heavy track vehicles.
HOWITZER
Advance
form of artillery with have a faster Rate of Fire. Howitzer are
effective not only against heavy units but even base defenses.
Howitzer have relatively long range of fire compared to mortars.
ROCKETS
The
weapons of longest range in Warzone2100. As long as it can see its
target, a rocket launcher can fire can almost fire from one edge of a
map to the other. With its long range of fire, this weapon is use
together with CB tower to bring down enemy howitzer defenses. Rocket
launchers are one of the key which unlock victory for late T3 game.
However, such weapon sacrifices it rate of fire. These weapons should
be place behind heavy defense.
SUPER WEAPONS
Satellite
Uplink is basically a giant sensor that reveal the entire battlefield
and enemy's activities throughout the map.
Laser
Satellite Command Post connect you the a laser satellite that allow
you to fire at enemy units and buildings around the map. Each fire is
3x3 tiles wide. Requires recharging.
