Still thought that these defense can
save your day? Even if so, do you have the time to build them before
the arrival of the enemy tanks?

We will focus on building defense for
multiplayer online games for T3 stages here. In this
section, some commonly used defense structures are name and talk about
in how they contribute to your victory.
When you build defense, they must be able
to stop attack. You dun build defense because it looks nice. There is
3 stages of defense building:
STAGE 1 - Start
Building Defenses.
Simple defense structures that you will
build first in online game:
Lancer Bunker
This
Defense is hardy due to its bunker's nature, and also make it cheap to
build. Mounted with a relatively long range light missile launcher,
allow it to defend against both long/short range enemy tanks. The big
disadvantage for this structure is its low Rate of Fire (ROF).
Twin Assault Cannon Bunker
Another
cheap and hardy bunker. This bunker have relatively high ROF and carry
lots of damage to the enemy. But due to its short range, this bunker
is good for repelling rush and hove to be backed by lancer bunkers.
Tank Trap
This
tank trap act as a passive defense. Very effective in preventing rush.
It is cheap and easy to build but have low hit points. By delaying
enemy advance, bunkers behind the tank trap and take out some of the
enemy tanks.
To set up a basic defense right after you
finish your base buildings, you should start building bunkers near
your base. It should be either bunkers mentioned about depend on your
starting tech level.
Build row(s) of lancer bunker at the perimeter of your base in the
enemy base direction.
Build row(s) of Twin Assault Cannon bunker
in front of your lancer bunkers.
Remember, build this as near to your base
as possible (But not blocking your factory). Remember to add rows of
tank trap in front of your bunkers to slow down possible enemy tank
rush. This can save you from an enemy rush early in the game. Trying
to expand your territory early in the game is a suicide!
STAGE 2 -
Fortification of Defenses.
Its time to make your defenses harder and
tougher. This should be done later in the game when you have stable
income. At this point of time, enemy will start to create slow and
heavy tanks.
Scourge Tower
Scourge
the most powerful and longest range direct missile weapon in
warzone2100. Despite its cost and low ROF, scourge can easily take out
a NEXUS body with a few shot. Its long range can take out any enemy
tanks in range before the tanks can return fire. Its hardiness made
tanks it nearly impossible to break through a group of scourge towers.
Pulse Laser Emplacement
Pulse
laser is Very effective against both hard targets and soft targets.
Its long range and good ROF also put itself advantage over attacking
units. However, emplacement have relatively weak amour.
To counter this, you need to have
researched scourge missile. Build up scourge missile towers behind all
your bunkers. This can stop heavy enemy tanks due to its high damage.
Add scourge tower behind and pulse laser
in front to further fortify the defense line. Now you can stop not
even fast weak hover units but even slow armored tracked vehicles.
STAGE 3 - Backup
the Defenses.
Now, its time to back your front line with
suppressive fire! Here are some widely used artilleries:
Ground Shaker Emplacement
Ground
Shaker, also known as heavy howitzer, is a long range indirect fire
weapon. Its high damage best versus enemy tanks. Its low ROF and high
cost made it an expensive investment.
Hellstorm Emplacement
A
hellstorm is simply a 3 howitzer in 1 artiillery. Hellstorm have an
ROF 3 times that of light howitzer. Placing them near the front line
can give a high ROF of shell on the enemy units, thus force them to
retreat.
Ripple Rocket Emplacement
An
extremely long range indirect fire weapon that fire rockets at a low
ROF. Very effective when used together with a CB radar. This artillery
can take out enemy artillery emplacement easily.
Archangel Missile Emplacement
The
longest range weapon in warzone2100, far more better than Ripple
Rocket launchers. Researching this automatically upgrade your Ripple
Rocket launchers to Archangel Missile.
Normally, players do not build 1, 2 or a
few artilleries in a battery. Instead, they build in rows and columns.
This will keep prevent enemy from building any artillery to counter.
